Assignment 13

1.                  On a unit circle, label all the points corresponding to special angles, or with special reference angles (0°, 30°, 45°, …, 120°, 135°, …, 180°, 210°, etc.).  Give the coordinates and the angle in both degrees and radians.

2.                  Get formulæ for sin(3A) and cos(3A) in terms of sin(A) and cos(A).

3.                  Find sin(15°) and cos(15°) two ways:

a.      Using 15° = 30°/2.

b.      Using 15° = 45° - 30°.

c.

4.                  Graph 2*sin(x) + 3*cos(x).  Note that it looks like a vertically stretched, horizontally shifted cosine.  Set 2*sin(x) + 3*cos(x) = C*cos(x+d).  Expand the right-hand side and solve for C and d.

5.                  Repeat problem 4 for ½*sin(x) – 1/5*cos(x).
